ABC has announced that professional dance pro Mark Ballas is Bristol Palin’s partner on this season of Dancing With the Stars. Ballas and Palin appeared on Good Morning America today to talk about their new partnership, plus their expectations and plans for season eleven.
When asked why she decided to accept the invitation from Dancing With the Stars, Bristol Palin said, “I want to step out of my comfort zone and enjoy myself. I want people to see my work ethic and personality.” The daughter of ex-Governor Sarah Palin also explained that she was anxious to get away from all the drama in Alaska. “I just want to have fun. This is going to be an awesome experience,” Palin added.
Mark Ballas is a two-time champion of Dancing With the Stars. He won the mirror ball trophy in season six with Kristi Yamaguchi and again in season eight with Shawn Johnson. Both of his winning partners were Olympic gold medal winners. Mark Ballas was also partnered with Sabrina Bryan in season five, Kim Kardashian in season seven, and Shannen Doherty in season ten.
Dance professional Mark Ballas says that he is excited to be partnered with Bristol Palin for season eleven. The pair has already squeezed in two half-day practices and Ballas claims that Palin has done well so far. He said that wants to get to know her quickly so that he can bring out her inner dancing diva. In the meantime, Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas spent the entire day yesterday at the Dancing With the Stars studios shooting the title shots for the new season.
Here are the other eleven celebrities who will compete this season on Dancing With the Stars: Brandy, Margaret Cho, Jennifer Grey, Florence Henderson, Audrina Patridge, Michael Bolton, Rick Fox, David Hasselhoff, Kyle Massey, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Kurt Warner. Good Morning America will announce the other celebrity/pro pairings tomorrow. The new season begins at 8/7c on Monday, September 20th on ABC.
