Betty White had one of the most memorable TV moments on the year when she joked with Sandra Bullock at the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards -- now, she's coming to the defense of her former co-star after allegations of an affair surfaced last week between Bullock's husband Jesse James and tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee.
Speaking to "Entertainment Tonight," the former "Golden Girls" star (who will guest-host on "Saturday Night Live" later this season) began by calling Bullock "one of the greatest human beings on the planet:"
"We're all deeply, deeply saddened...At such a high point in her life, it's tough, but I think the less other people have to say about it and let her work it out...the better."
The entertainment news show is also "debunking" the rumors that Sandra Bullock has hired a divorce lawyer and is filing for divorce -- likely referencing a report by TMZ earlier in the day (even though the original story only said she was "interviewing" attorneys, not that she had hired anyone specifically).

Great lady, it will only make her stronger. Most people don't know what they have until it's gone.
I have never heard not one bad word come out of any stars mouth about Sandra Bullock. Everyone has said she is the most pleasant, most down to earth person they have ever met. I cant believe that she has to be the one that gets the raw end of the deal. Why is it that these kind of things keep happening to all of the great people and all the schmucks always come out smelling likes roses??
Stay strong Sandra, you deserve the very best and do what you think is right and not what everyone tries to persuade you to do.....
The hubby screwed up big time. I don't see what he see's in "Bombshell", as far as I can see she is a DUD with lots of cruddy tats all over her body. It is like a movie script out there in HW, the good people get crapped on, Jennifer Aniston being dumped by BranGelina is a great example. I don't understand why this people even consider marriage in the first place. Just live together, it will save a lot of paperwork, money and court time. Betty W is right, everyone should butt out.

Agreed that Betty White is a class act - her generation knew the art of discretion and what things should be public vs. private. As for Sandra Bullock, I have a sister-in-law who's in the film business (promotions) and she has said the same thing about about Bullock - that she is a wonderful, down to earth, lovely person. Too bad someone like Jesse has caused her such pain.
