You have to give credit to recent "American Idol" castoff Lacey Brown for one thing -- she can go toe-to-toe with David Letterman. The 12th-place vocalist made an appearance on Monday night's episode of "The Late Show," and she took most of Dave's humor in stride while even firing off a few barbs of her own.
As usual when Dave has reality-show contestants on the program, he played completely and totally clueless with Lacey about everything from the program to the voting format to even head judge Simon Cowell. After all of his jokes were spent, the Amarillo, Texas native had one reminder to Dave: "you have eleven more weeks of this."
For some reason Dave never seems particularly thrilled to have these contestants on the show, which is strange considering "Idol" is the most-watched show on TV. It might simply be because they air on a rival network in Fox -- in this case, we should probably expect Conan O'Brien to be interviewing these people next season (if he is able to ink a deal).
Once the joking was over, Lacey gave a performance of "What a Wonderful World" that actually sounded a hundred times better than anything we heard from her during the show.

I thought she was great on Letterman! Go Lacey!
She sounded great. She went home a little early, but I think the problem is that there are singers like Siobhan etc that are better. It's not that she's a bad singer. Also even if all 12 where equally good, they'd still have to send someone home anyway. That's how it works.
They pick the same person over and over again. Laceys voice is unique that why they sent her home.Lets see in a year whos doing good. Most people that win never do anything with a couple of exceptions.I dare say Im glad they sent her home so I can quit watching AI.Plus check out The website Vote For The Worse. Its not a contest anymore. Its just a farce!Loved Lacey On Letterman!!!!
