For his entire stint on the "American Idol" live shows, Alex Lambert had to deal with two things -- nerves and being called an "unripe banana" by judge Ellen DeGeneres. It was never actually clear whether or not he really appreciated the comparison, mainly because Alex is just such a low-key guy that (outside of his tearful elimination) he hasn't shown too much emotion one way or another.
However, during an appearance on Ellen's talk show Tuesday, Alex admitted that he is just fine with the comparison -- though he still wishes he was around to "ripen" for all of America. He then took the opportunity to perform the song he intended to sing last week: "Let Me Love You" by Mario. Why didn't he sing it? According to Entertainment Weekly, the producers told him he would likely get more votes if he took on "Trouble."
Alex Lambert's elimination was shocking last week, as he received mostly praise from the judges and he was considered to be favored above other contestants (such as Tim Urban and Aaron Kelly) to go far in the competition. However, it just wasn't to be, as the man with the famous mullet was sent packing.

Yes I think he is going to have an amazing career w/out idol. This kid has it, an amazing unique voice, looks and a sweet shyness that pulls it all together. I'd buy his CD today. He's already a star @ he hasn't even started yet. Idols gonna be kicking themselves!!
Alex should not have been eliminated last week. I don't know what happened on voting night, but he definately should have sailed through to the top 12. Finally, when the show gets someone who actually has a unique voice & style, he's eliminated right before the finals. This season is a complete joke now, & I will no longer be tuning in. No Alex, no show.
I am no longer watching AI. I am still not over Alex being eliminated! I hope he has a career in front of him, it certainly would have made it a lot easier if he was still on the show. I will certainly still follow him and hopefully buy his cd. I certainly will not be buying Aaron kelly or Tim Urbans cd, what a joke!!!!
Absolutely I think Alex will have a wonderful career in music! He should be very excited for his future! I think he definitely needs to keep chasing his dream wherever that may take him. He's young, he's good looking, he seems really nice and mature, and most of all he's extremely talented! I love the sound of his voice. He's got a bright future ahead of him, I can't wait to see what he does! The sky's the limit at this point =)

I was so disappointed that Alex went home last week that I just couldn't watch the show this week. I loved his sound and I know I will be buying his tunes in the future if singing is the road he chooses.
One one show my two of my three favorites get kicked off. Alex has such a unique voice, I can't believe more people didn't want to keep him on to see what he could do. Instead we have these bubble gum singers!
Yes, I think that it is quite possible that he may be the most successful contestant from this season. He has a huge career in front of him. He was just with us on American Idol for 3-4 short weeks and look at the following he already has.

Yes, he absolutely has a good career ahead of him. He's young, cute, unique AND TALENTED. Based on comments from different message boards, I think he appeals to a lot of people-- young, old, men, women, etc. Somebody should sign him to a record deal ASAP!
Alex will definitely make it very far even without Idol. Although frankly I really want him to come back to American Idol!
I saw he said he is starting to put his music on Youtube, so despite getting kicked off AI, there will be plenty of chances to hear him, thank goodness.
I am convinced he'll have a great career. He has a natural, unique and distinct voice and a hell of a lot of appeal. All of this without training. Just imagine what he'll be able to do with it with practice and experience. It might just be that getting voted of AI will turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to him.
WOW, after all the drama this week, now we learn of THIS?? An American Idol PRODUCER advising Alex Lambert to sing a song (Trouble) he didn't want to sing?! I can definitely see how it contributed to him LOSING VOTES, not to mention all the votes that went to Tim & Paige due to evil websites like votefortheworst.com, whose sole goal is to sabotage the show. The Mario "Let me love you" song was more popular w/ his teen demographic and would have helped him get more votes. Check YouTube, Twitter & you'll see all the positive comments and 5-star ratings. Really, American Idol & FOX?? Is this how you wanted to go out? You could have gone out on the top, but instead, you are choosing to go out on the bottom. You are damaging your own brand by ignoring this. Us loyal (7 yrs for me) fans love (or loved) AI and it'd be a WIN-WIN situation. I did not watch AI this week. It was tough canceling the series recording on my DVR, but I did it for a young man w/ a voice of GOLD: Alex Lambert.
Alex elimination was shocking, painful and just plain wrong. I thought he was going to be in the finals. I actually got the AT&T text plan to be able to vote for him. I guess I won't be needing it anymore unless FOX realizes they made a mistake and bring him back. The producers who advised him on the song choice need to be recognizing the error and start to see the way to get him back. I love his voice and need to hear more from him
I'm still so sad Alex was voted off - and now I read that the reason he sang his "second choice" song last week was because a producer recommended it. With such conflicting criticism and "advice" from the judges this year, which is many times about the song choice, how could a producer even make a suggestion on song choice? Especially to sway Alex from a song that would have been WILDLY popular with the voting population? How can American Idol be falling apart so quickly this year? I've been a fan from the beginning, but this year is killing it for me - Alex leaving, so many weak contestants left, judges acting weird (except Ellen - I love her!). I'm hoping AI is considering doing something with the suggestion to bring Alex back, as I've been reading so much about since last week. I hope AI is savvy enough to know they MUST do something like that to try and reel in those fans they've been losing this year. BRING ALEX BACK!!
I can't bring myself to watch this season anymore with the likes of tim urban, aaron kelly, paige miles and katie stevens taking the stage. The season wasn't great to begin with and now we've lost one of the contestants who actaully made it worth watching. I say they bring Alex back, maybe then I'll watch again.
If I didn't feel sick enough about Alex being gone, now it's even worse that I find out someone influenced him to sing something other than was in his heart! Idol has really gone downhill this year, the contestants were bad enough to begin with and then they let the contestant with the most unique voice and persona slip thru their fingers, what are they thinking?! I have no doubt that Alex will be a star on his own, he just has 'it' and every time I watch him, I fall more in love with his amazing voice. However, I still think Idol should rectify their mistake and bring back Alex as a wildcard, they need something to spice up this season and fix their ratings, it would be amazing since he apparently has a huge fan base! I think their tour will be weak without him, Bring Back Alex! Please, the horrible singing from some of the remaining contestants is killing me, I don't think I can take it!

It was wonderful to see and hear Alex Lambert sing Let Me Love you on Ellen last Wednesday. He was in his comfort zone. I still haven't recovered from the shock of his abrupt departure on American Idol. On top of it, now I came to discover he was swayed by the AI producer to sing Trouble so he'll 'get more votes'!??? Alex Lambert sang Trouble very well on AI, but this Mario song definitely appeals to the younger viewers who were voting! I want to know, what was the producer thinking? Was it a plan to sabotage Alex Lambert? That's just not right! ATTENTION: FOX and AI people, you now have 18,000 (and still counting) signed petition demanding you rectify your mistake; BRING ALEX LAMBERT BACK AS YOUR WILD CARD THIS YEAR!
BRING ALEX LAMBERT BACK! In the beginning of the season, I was definitely a John Park fan, but the first time that I heard Alex sing, he was, without a doubt, my American Idol. He was only beginning to show America what he can do. His raw vocal talent is absolutely mind-boggling. I have never heard to such potential in a voice on the show. If he came out with an album tomorrow, I would not even hesitate buying it. If I was a music producer, I would snatch that kid up before anybody else got to him. He shows true promise for a young artist. I believe that we will be seeing much more of Alex in the future. But for now, bring him back to Idol.
I still feel SICK TO MY STOMACH over what happened to Alex Lambert. Why isn't American Idol & FOX doing or saying anything about it? Please HELP!!!!!!! This is just plain WRONG.. the kid has an amazing voice.. he is what American Idol is all about. Bring him back to the show!!! I have boycotted AI until he is brought back.
Alex Lambert should never have been kicked off the show so early. He is good enough to be in the top 10 to go on tour. His voice is one of the most distinctive voices on the show. American Idol is suppose to be all about personality and vocal talent.
