'American Idol:' Alex Lambert campaign turns to 'If I Can Dream'

It's been a few weeks now since Alex Lambert was on "American Idol," but fans are still clamoring for a way to get the singer (and his mullet) back into the spotlight. A petition for a recount of votes managed to get 19,000 signatures, but now fans are turning to something entirely different -- "If I Can Dream." "Idol" mastermind Simon Fuller created the web series, which looks at the lives of five aspiring performances living inside of a house together. A number of different "Idol" alum have already stopped by the house, from David Cook to Kris Allen to even Lacey Brown from this season. Could Alex be next -- as a permanent resident?

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that there is actually an extra room open in the "If I Can Dream" house, just for situations like this. Alex has also announced via Twitter that he is back in the Los Angeles area. Does this mean things are looking definite for the singer who wowed audience with "Trouble" and "Everybody Knows?" Not necessarily, but if you go over to the "If I Can Dream" Facebook page you will notice quite a few people are posting in hopes of getting him on.

Do you want to see Alex Lambert go from "American Idol" to "If I Can Dream?" Let me know your thoughts with a comment and stay tuned for more of the latest TV news.

NO I do not want to see Alex on IICD.., no way. the reason I signed the Petition was for ONE REASON- TO PUT HIM BACK ON AMERICAN IDOL. I am not watching American Idol any longer- nor will I watch IICD. IICD is a online reality show It is NOT a singing competition. The entire reason why I LOVED watching American Idol was because #! it is well produced, #2 it is amazing to watch raw talent especially someone like Alex who was super shy Blossom into an amazing artist. I tis like watching a hero save the day. Let's face it everyone likes to see and view someone from the bottom rise up to the TOP... AND Alex would have if he remained on American Idol. The current Contestants on AI are really not that talented. They seem rehearsed, Mike totally is, and Urban is amature, Andrew I like his shyness but he is no good-sorry, Casey is only good to look at but nothing great, Aaron-no, Lee he kinda good but reminds me of other contestants that we have seen already, Crystal rocks-sign her..

    Cintinued:
they should just sign Crystal-I mean she is Great! Siobhan I have to say is the most interesting because her and ALEX had that X-factor to them. You can't wait to see them grow and blossom- That is what American Idol stands for- watching the contestants go from shyness to blossoming- it is so so fun!!! I use tune into Idol to watch this but with Alex gone I am over Idol. The contestants are just ok- they need to throw Alex back in to the mix and raddle things up and get it exciting again. But whatever I would have never signed the petition IF I knew settling for a online reality was in the mix... That's my opinion and I am sticking to it.

I'll take Alex Lambert any way I can get him. I would loooooove to see him on IICD. It would be cool to have more access to him and his music and his life because he is so wonderful and sweet and talented and inspiring. Give us ALEX LAMBERT!

Not even moved in yet and they are already changing the kid we all rooted for. LOTS OF PEOPLE tweeted, and FB'd WHICH originally started ball rolling. Alex's talent captured the attention of many who started the chatter the night he was voted off. Alex has the It factor and that is what attracted the producers to urge him to join If I can dream. The petition helped but give him some CREDIT here...he is making his dream come true because he was real and has talent. All the other things only helped him. GOTTA say Thank you to EVERYONE WHO continued to tweet and keep his name out there....not just one!

Everybody signed that petition hoping to get Alex back on AI, to see him on tour and buy his music.
His progress on AI was so unexpected and unplanned … And we do know the Busy percentages-Dial Idol that night…
So, two important things happened :
1.A very talented contestant was kicked off before top 10 - (do you know any AI contestant who came out of the top 10 beeing successful? I do not.)
    2. The most voted competitor was kicked off - so many were disappointed to see that viewers votes do not count.
Is this IICD a chance for AI producers to make up for their mistake? We’ll wait and see..
Anyway, I wish Alex all the best and I am waiting for his CD.
