As it turns out, Adam Lambert won't be the only one performing on Wednesday night's "American Idol" results show with connections to season past. According to a new story by Entertainment Weekly, the reigning runner-up will be joined on the show by season seven contestant Brooke White and Justin Gaston of "If I Can Dream." White and Gaston are expected to perform some sort of duet, though the song of choice is currently unknown.
While Adam Lambert will easily be the bigger sell for "Idol" producers, the inclusion of Gaston (who is probably still looking to be known for more than being Miley Cyrus' ex) shows that executive producer Simon Fuller is looking to create as much synergy as possible between "Idol" and his "Dream" project, which features a group of struggling artists living together in a house.
Just because Gaston is getting the break of a lifetime shouldn't mean that fellow "If I Can Dream" housemate Alex Lambert will get another chance on the "Idol" stage. While I am certainly in agreement that Alex got booted from the show far too soon, it would almost be a way of Simon Fuller laughing at the remaining contestants if he gave someone who was eliminated before the top 12 this season a coveted results-show slot.

Didn't even know Brooke was going to be on until just now. I am curious to see what she's been up to since I always liked her voice. I will be tuning in to see both her and of course Adam -- am interested to see how he will advise the contestants, and how well they are able to implement whatever advice he gives.
This will be the first Idol show I watch this season! ADAM!!!!!

I am so excited to see Adam. I have watched American Idol off and on this year but do not have the enthusiasm I had last year. I couldn't wait to see Adam every week. I'm feeling that way for this week, excitement is growing for for tomorrow and Wednesday. So excited to see him and see how Season 9 contestants relate to him. I remember last year he was to go to person for most of of the participants. He is a great choice for mentor.

It's all about Adam. He will have his work cut out for him with the current Idols but I think he will make them think and start to push themselves more. Smart move for Idol to bring him in to mentor. He is fearless and will hopefully teach others to be brave and experiment. This year's favorite to win seems to be Crystal but she is too self involved, brooding and not willing to loosen up. About Justin and Brooke......who???
