After spending a span of time trailing Carrie Underwood on the "American Idol" airplay chart, Adam Lambert is now back at the #1 spot with "If I Had You." In the newest chart information courtesy of USA Today, the third single off of "For Your Entertainment" totaled 5,246 spins in the past week. This marks the first time that Adam has totaled over 5,000 spins in a single week.

So how long could Adam stay on top with his new song? Really, much of that will depend on how much support he receives from genre stations (such as in the Adult Contemporary format). "If I Had You is starting to level off as far as Top 40 radio is concerned, so getting those extra formats will be key. It's also a rather competitive chart right now, with new singles by Daughtry and Fantasia also making a charge to get near the 5,000 spin mark.

Are you happy to see Adam on top of the show airplay chart, and do you think it will last? Stay tuned for more of the latest "American Idol" news.

If people stop whining about lack of spins and start requesting from their local station it would help. Too many of Adam's fans would rather flail and write fanfic or look at pictures than get off their lazy butts and call their local station or simply go onto their local stations website and see if their is a request line or form. It's not that difficult you know and there are no good excuses. Stop leaving it up to a few.

That's what me and my friends have been doing (in Canada). 98.5 virgin radio and 101.5 play Adam's songs daily. But I did start by watching the playlists on their websites. At first IF I HAD YOU was being played at 4:00 a.m. After several email song requests they started playing IF I HAD YOU and WHATAYA WANT FROM ME throughout the day. I also sent thank you emails to the stations. Keep bombarding them. Use different names, whatever, just get the message across to the station that the audience wants to hear Adam. It worked.

Everyone who's ever got some iiving under their belt has got to hear Lambert's "Can't Let You Go." It will freeze you in place, then melt you down. Adam's voice is a once-in-a-genertion phenom. And he's got the the looks that charms all species.

"can't let you go" serious business. part of adam's amazing gift is his ability to interpret a song both musically and lyrically. he's the real deal and if some people can't deal with it, too bad. rock on, baby!

Agree...Can't Let You Go is a phenom! I send e-mails to our local station in LaCrosse, Wi. thanking them for playing Adam's songs. I like to let them know that someone in their area is monitoring for Adam. Also, he is included in their promo mentioning some of the artists and also featuring him as one of the artists in a musical promo. The station is Z93. Please thank them!
