In what may be the least surprising news we have heard all year, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner for the "Twilight" franchise are not planning to attend the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. E! Online first reported the news, but this is not necessarily something that many of us would have been putting much thought into.
Why would Pattinson and Stewart appear? Sure, their movie franchise has swept the MTV Movie Awards and pretty much every other major show in the land -- but they are not exactly a music franchise. In addition to this, they all have other film projects to work on.
Sure, a few faces from outside the music world will be on hand at the VMAs -- comedian Chelsea Handler is serving as a host -- but the night is largely a celebration of music. The irony in all of this? Justin Bieber -- who will be performing at the VMAs on Sunday -- taped a promo for the MTV Movie Awards earlier this year.
