Kara eliminated from 'America's Next Top Model' cycle 13 week six

Kara was eliminated from "America's Next Top Model" cycle 13 on Oct. 14, 2009 (TVGuide)

Kara was eliminated from "America's Next Top Model" cycle 13 during the week six episode, Oct. 14, 2009. Tyra Banks told Kara the judges felt she had given up at some point.

Sundai was the other model up for elimination. The judges told her she needs to be more versatile if she wants to make it in modeling.

Go-sees

The Petite Ninja Warriors challenge was the go-see challenge. Some twists to the go-see were that they were split in to teams of two and given their own cars and along with meeting with designers, the models also met with an advertising executive to read some material.

The only rule was that the models had to be back to Wilhemina by 4 p.m., which gave them four hours to go to five go-sees.

Here's how each team did:

Jennifer and Erin

  • Rozae Nichols (fashion designer) thought Erin would be great because she is tiny and petite but thought Erin wore too much makeup
  • Trina Turk (fashion designer) loved Jennifer's freedom in front of the camera

Brittany and Kara

  • Neil Lane (jewelry designer) said he wouldn't book Kara because she didn't have pierced ears, but he loved Kara and thought she was glamorous
  • The advertising executives felt Kara's hair looked greasy and thought Brittany was too robotic

Sundai and Rae

  • Neil Lane wouldn't book Rae or Sundai because they didn't seem comfortable with the jewelry
  • The advertising executives felt Sundai was too limited in her abilities

Nicole and Laura

  • Rozae Nichols thought Laura was beautiful and edgy and said she would definitely book Nicole

Sundai and Rae did not make the 4 p.m. deadline. Sean Patterson, president of Wilhelmina, was so angry at the pair that he kicked them out of the room.

The winner of the challenge was Nicole. She won a bunch of outfits, diamond earrings from Neil Lane and a part in a national commercial.

Put down the weapon and pose

The Petite Ninja Warriors photo shoot had the models decked out in warrior princess gear and was split in to two parts. The first part had the models modeling while hanging by wires, and the second part had the models modeling on the ground. Before the photo shoot the models were trained on how to use the weapon of their choice.

Jay felt Nicole was on top of her game this week. He loved Jennifer's face and the energy she brought to the set. Unfortunately, not everyone got such great remarks. Jay felt Kara's moves weren't graceful but were messy, and he couldn't understand why Rae couldn't portray the light she has on person on to the film. Sundai was another one who had trouble being graceful, on the ground and in the air.

Judges' panel

The guest judge on Petite Ninja Warriors was supermodel Jessica White.

  • Jennifer - Thought she looked powerful and intriguing
  • Rae - The movement wasn't fluid enough
  • Erin - The look of confusion on her face really worked for the photo
  • Brittany - Looked sexy; Knows how to work light to her advantage
  • Kara - Looked really uncomfortable; Looked confused
  • Laura - Elegant; Used the weapons to lengthen her body, which was very good
  • Sundai - Legs look amazing and toned; Need to step out of the comfort zone of her same old shots
  • Nicole - Proved she wasn't afraid to stand out in front of the camera

Nicole was chosen as the best photo of the week.

Next week - Oct. 21, 2009: The models sharpen their interview skills with Jessica Lowndes from "90210;" The models write scripts for their own commercial

I really liked Kara. She was one of the girls who actually looked like a model. She had amazingly gorgeous cheekbones, pretty skin, and an amazing body. I think she could have won this season. She lost focus and gave up really fast. She was stunning! Tyra was right; if you ever saw Kara, you would turn your head twice because she is that stunning. I really thought Sundai should have gone home. I don't have anything against her, but she just had the same face week after week, after week. Kara deserved another week. I think if she gotten the chance, she would've changed it all around. I'm really upset Kara got eliminated.
