Betty White, best known to my generation as the lovable Rose Nyland from 'The Golden Girls,' is in the midst of her second coming here in Hollywood. With a career that many can only dream of, Betty White has been entertaining America for decades.
From the 'Mary Tyler Moore' show to 'The Golden Girls,' Betty White has now secured a hosting gig on SNL for Mother's Day, thanks to a few hundred thousand fans and Facebook. And she has also been cast in a new TV show called 'Hot in Cleveland' which will air on TVLand (someone smart is working at TVLand and they deserve a raise). The show will start airing in June, oh, why must we wait so long (logistics and filming, I know, I know).
The NY Times says about 'Hot in Cleveland':
"The show stars three other comedy veterans of a different generation — Valerie Bertinelli (of “One Day at a Time”), Jane Leeves (“Frasier”) and Wendie Malick (“Just Shoot Me”) — as Los Angeles émigrés who end up in Cleveland. Ms. White, who plays the caretaker of the house they live in, was originally set just for the pilot episode."
Watch the hilarious Super Bowl commercial that got Betty White back on the radar in Hollywood below. You can watch SNL on NBC on Saturdays, Los Angeles channel 4.
