Rapper Eminem the butt of a joke at awards

This is why they play the game folks.

While the award show itself produced little to no surprise with the winners of it's prestigious Golden Popcorn Award, the big moment last night at the MTV Movie Awards came from a couple of dudes known for their outrageous antics.  Except this time, it's still up in the air as to how much of it was staged and how much was a giant miscommunication.

Just past the half way point of the MTV's annual meaningless award ceremony, when Sacha Baron Cohen was announced as the next presenter and you just had to know something was going to go down.  After all, this is the same guy that publicly "kidnapped" Pamela Anderson to promote Borat.

Cohen came swinging in on a harness high above the crowd decked out in full costume as the title character of his new flick, Bruno.  He was half naked and sporting a huge pair of feathery wings.  As he soared across the crowd towards the stage, the line snagged and "Bruno" tumbled to the crowd below, landing directly into the lap Eminem with his rear end aimed right at the rapper's face.

Chaos ensued as Em's entourage practically beat the still dangling Cohen off the rapper.  Eminem, with the cameras still rolling, stormed out of the ceremony, leaving audiences gasping in both shock and laughter and wondering if it was just an elaborate publicity stunt.

Eminem had performed a couple of new songs earlier in the telecast and had been the center of much of the MTV's publicity campaign for the show to promote release of his new album, Relapse, which hit stores a couple of weeks ago.  Cohen's movie, Bruno gets a July 10 release.
