Real Housewives of New Jersey Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe are in hot water. The couple, who filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, are accused of hiding major assets from the United States Bankruptcy Court.
The U.S. Trustee overseeing their bankruptcy claim, Roberta A. DeAngelis, filed a Complaint Objecting to Discharge last Thursday. He is requesting that Judge Morris Stern not grant them Chapter 7 bankruptcy because of all the omissions and false information within their filing.
DeAngelis accuses the couple of filing schedules and statements that they knew were not correct, and making false statements regarding their assets under oath. He even claims that the couple gave the bankruptcy court false income tax returns.
The Giudice's paperwork failed to include the $250,000 contract she signed for her book Skinny Italian just one week before filing for bankruptcy.
In addition, the couple also didn't disclose Joe's bank account, two pieces of property they own and their vehicles.
Sounds like the Giudice family may not be getting off of their $11 million dollar debt after all. Many of the family's possessions are set to be auctioned off later this year.
It is also rumored that Teresa is fighting for a large pay raise to remain on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Teresa's sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, is set to join the cast next season.
