Portia de Rossi to write tell-all book about her life.
February 09, 2010 -- Actress Portia De Rossi, wife of TV host and newest American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres, is writing a new tell-all book about her life, reports RadarOnline. The book is to detail Portia's struggle with the eating disorder anorexia along with Portia's battle to find herself through her sexuality. De Rossi had been hiding her sexual orientation until she met TV host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres.
"It will deal with all the secrets that nearly killed me," de Rossi, who was born with the name Mandy Rogers, told an Australian magazine. "Nobody can really get inside the anorexic's mind like the anorexic," she said.
"I abused my body. I had bulimia. I would use (diet drug) fen-phen. I wanted to talk about all that. But obviously I can't do that without talking about my sexuality. And although you can't really talk about one without the other, it still felt like two stories. The only thing that linked the two of them was me."
Portia reveals is Ellen who helps her stay grounded and deal with her problems in a healthy way. "I tell her all my insecurities, all of my worries, and within a few minutes I feel better. "She's just so helpful to me. I think I help her too. I keep her focused on what's important and what the big picture is. I think that's what a good couple do for each other."
Portia and Ellen were married in a beautiful ceremony in 2008. "Happiness is a choice, too," de Rossi said.
"It's a choice to live in a state of gratitude and to fix what makes you unhappy. Being honest with who you are, being able to go out into the world and show people that you can be successful and be happy and be in a good marriage - it's important."
Catch Ellen DeGeneres' newest gig American Idol on your local Cleveland FOX network Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 8pm.
