Barbara Mandrell lights up the stage last night at the CMA's
On a night where country music stars young and old gather together to praise the years best, Barbara Mandrell had an emotional moment with country princess, Taylor Swift. Mandrell praised Taylor Swift for the amazing achievement of winning Entertainer of the Year award. Taylor Swift made history by being the youngest person to ever win the award, and only the third female ever.
Barbara Mandrell gushed that she is looking forward to seeing how far Taylor Swift can go in her blossoming career. Stating that it will be very exciting to watch.
Of course Barbara Mandrell is no stranger to the limelight. Her career is filled with many achievements. To this day Mandrell is the only country musician to win Entertainer of the year on two separate occasions. In addition she has also been the Female Vocalist of the Year two times.
Barbara Mandrell's legacy will continue to inspire and encourage young country singers everywhere. Her spot on last night Country Music Awards has renewed the interest in her life, as well as her music.

Barbara is a country music legend. Yes, she won the Entertainer Award twice. I just wish people would get that straight though. She was the first person EVER to win it twice. And, that is a lot different that being the first female to do so. I do not know where you got the phrase first musician to do so. She did not win it because she is a musician. She won it because she is an entertainer and some say she is the ultimate entertainer and probably will never be topped.
Taylor Swift isn't only the 3rd female ever to win Entertainer of the Year. That was Barbara Mandrell (after Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton). The other women that have won Entertainer of the Year after Mandrell are Reba McEntire, Shania Twain and The Dixie Chicks.
Barbara is so deserving of this award. It was way overdue. How many entertainers can say that they have been a paid performer since they were 11 years old. How many entertainers can say that they had their own network variety show, How many can say they had an HBO tv special along with other network specials and commercials. Before Reba, Barbara was the first entertainer to bring dance and elaborate costume changes to a concert. She Entertained you and you didn't know what to expect next. She just didn't stand up to the mic and sing. Most artists today except for a few male and a few female just stand on the stage. You couldn've just stayed home and listen to the cd and saved yourself the $100 plus dollars you spent going to the concert. She is definetly a Legend.
