'The Amazing Race' teams for season 17 revealed by CBS (PHOTOS)

The teams competing on this season of "The Amazing Race" include doctors, beach volleyball players, several parent/child pairings (including a recently reunited mother and the daughter she put up for adoption 20 years ago), Princeton a capella singers, Home shopping hosts, three hair stylists (on three different teams), and of course a few newly-dating-soon-to-be-bickering couples.

The 17th season will kick off on Sun., Sept. 26 with a 90-minute season premiere, where the teams fortunate enough to race around the world for a chance at the million dollar prize will be greeted at the mat once again by Phil Keoghan and his frequently arched eyebrow.

The teams will travel over 32,000 miles, reaching four continents and 30 cities, including the first visits to Ghana, the Arctic Circle, and Bangladesh in the show's history. CBS is also promising a surprise twist at the end of the first episode, where the first place team will receive "a surprise, game-changing advantage."

The reality competition series was recently dethroned by "Top Chef" as the Best Reality Program at this year's Emmy Awards, after winning the trophy seven years in a row. 

TEAMS:

-- Miss Kentucky 2009 Mallory Ervin, 24, competing with her father Gary, 53. 

-- Jewelry Television host and Miss Oregon 2004 Brook Roberts, 27, teamed with fellow TV host Claire Champlin, 30.

-- Internet comedian Kevin Wu, 20, (aka, KevJumba on YouTube) and his father and occasional co-star Michael, 58, the season's youngest and oldest competitors. 

-- Princeton a cappella singers Connor Diemand-Yauman, 22, and Jonathan Schwartz, 22. 

-- Birth mother and daughter Andie DeKroon, 43, and Jenna Sykes, 21, who were recently reunited after the mother gave her newborn daughter up for adoption over 20 years ago

-- Bartender Nick DeCarlo, 26, and his girlfriend, hairstylist Vicki Casciola, 26, who are out to prove there's more to them then their tattoos, mohawk, and perceived "rough" appearance.

-- Director/choreographer Ron Kellum, 45, and best friend, Tony Stovall, 42, a doctoral student at the University of Arizona

-- New couple Chad Waltrip, 26, an operations manager, and Stephanie Smith, 23, a hairstylist.

-- Drs. Nat Strand, 31, and Kat Chang, 35, best friends and self-described nerds with extensive travel experience.

-- Hairstylist Jill Haney, 27, and her boyfriend Thomas Wolfard, 30, an ad sales director, who are hoping to "test" their relationship on the race, overcoming their communication problems, and short tempers. So...expect lots of shouting.

-- Beach volleyball partners Katie Seamon, 23, and Rachel Johnston, 24, New Jersey natives hoping to show there's a lot more to the shore than what you see on that other infamous reality show.
