Here are some of today's TV headlines...
Beginning next summer, "Mad Men" will return for a fourth season. The AMC advertisting drama has seen a bump in viewership and was recently nominated for 16 Academy Awards. The program won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Drama, the first time a basic cable program accomplished this feat.
This January, Charles Gibson will step down as news anchor for ABC's "World News" and be replaced by Diane Sawyer. Gibson had thought of resigning in 2007 but decided to stay aboard. Gibson has been working for ABC News for 35 years and will continue on as an occasional contributor.
The gorgeous Lena Headey, last seen on Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," has landed the role of Queen Cersei in "Game of Thrones," a dramatic fantasy pilot ordered by HBO. Based on the books by George R.R. Martin about "a battle among seven kingdoms and two ruling families for control of the Iron Throne."

I had not heard the good news about "Mad Men." It is my favorite show and thank you for breaking this news for me. I didn't know that it won Academy Awards. I thought it won Emmys. I am trying to get my husband to watch this show, but it is too advanced for him. He only likes shows with helmets and beer commercials.
