Glenn Beck
In a new press release being sent out by the organization spearheading the boycott of Glenn Beck's program on FOX News, an additional ten advertisers have chosen to distance themselves from the popular conservative talk show host.
Color of Change, an African-American organization geared towards bringing awareness to issues facing black Americans, have announced that Applebee's, Bank of America, DirecTV and other well-known companies have turned their back on Beck.
Here's an excerpt from the press release:
Adding to an increasing list of companies distancing themselves from Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck, ten new companies whose ads were recently seen during Beck’s program—Applebee’s, Bank of America, Bell & Howell, DirecTv, General Mills, Kraft, Regions Financial Corporation, SAM (Store and Move), Travelers Insurance and Vonage—have pledged to take steps to ensure that their ads don’t run on Beck’s show. Forty-six companies have now committed not to support Beck’s show since ColorOfChange.org launched its campaign three weeks ago after the Fox News Channel host called President Obama a “racist” who “has a deep-seated hatred for white people” during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
Amidst the boycott, Beck has seen his ratings soar. On Wednesday, his program attracted 3 million viewers, which is his second largest audience since the show debuted in mid-January.
Former governor Sarah Palin has also thrown her support towards Beck this week, writing on her Facebook page:
FOX News' Glenn Beck is doing an extraordinary job this week walking America behind the scenes of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and outlining who is actually running the White House. Monday night he asked us to invite one friend to watch; tonight I invite all my friends to watch."
On July 28th, Glenn Beck stepped into hot water when he called President Obama a "racist" and claimed the president had a "deep-seated hatred for white people." Beck was reacting to Obama's comments on the Boston Police acting "stupidly" in their arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.

It was refreshing to see Glenn Beck admit on the air he was a dirtbag and a liar and an alcoholic and a druggie. Since we all know that no one ever really changes and always stay whatever they have said they are in the past I'm relieved he's come clean.
Maybe some advertisers will come back now that he's telling the truth.

Was it the "typical white person" or the "white man's greed" or the pick of the 'wise Latina' or his wife's doctoral thesis that Glen had in mind - perhaps all in total plus the other comments and actions. Regardless, yes, the prez is racist and has an uber elitist mentality. Us typical white people will just be layin low clinging to our beliefs and Jesus.

Working it out, I spent about 5 grand at applebees last year. Methinks I'm not going to be stopping by that place again.
I'm actually going to start watching this network again.
I have Dish Network and see most news channels everyday. I listen and try to read between the lines. I was never really a believer in any news channel until watching Glen Beck. When advertisers cancel their ads, I think they are uninformed or supporters of complete change in the United States of America. I won't support them or buy their products and as a small business owner I have a large e-mail list and will forward any and all the information I see. Americans can judge for themselves when they look at the facts. Glen Beck doesn't claim to know it all, he says to research for ourselves, speak the truth as you believe it, don't be a trouble maker and talk to everyone you know. Support Freedom Of Speach.
i'm totally disappointed. i watched the beck show all week and was interrupted by just as many admertisements as usual. same old ads,
remember cnn's big expose last week showing the shoulder down from the back of a man attending a townhall meeting with an automatic rifle on his shoulder and pistol strapped to his leg? they made a big deal out of the "intimidation of the democratic town hall meeting by the terrible republicans".
fox show the same man including his head. the guy was black, nobody got shot or intimidated or shot during the whole session. doesn't that make you wonder why cnn didn't report the incident as it really was instead of making it a "bad old republican" incidnet.

Well, I guess all of these corporations must be run by Communists and Marxists too, and people who have a hatred of whites. Otherwise it would look like even the most ardent capitalists are turning their backs on Beck's shallow fearmongering and anti-intellectualism.
I am skeptical of this list of companies particularly Directv, which is owned by Newscorp, parent company of Fox and Fox News and thus owners of the Glenn Beck Show. It would not make a lot of sense for them to be involved in the side of this advertiser pullout against their own company. I trust Mr. Murdoch and Mr. Ailes would not shoot themselves in the foot.
