Steve Harvey will become the new host of the syndicated game show "Family Feud," FremantleMedia North America--the company that backs "American Idol" and produces "Family Feud"--announced last week. Harvey will replace actor John O'Hurley, who said in a statement that he has chosen to focus on his role in the touring production of the musical "Chicago."

O'Hurley hosted "Family Feud" for four seasons.
FremantleMedia North America said they chose Harvey for his ability to connect with viewers and his "one-of-a-kind" personality. Harvey currently hosts a syndicated morning radio show and was in the Spike Lee directed stand-up comedy film "The Kings of Comedy."
"Family Feud" was created in 1976 and was originally hosted by Richard Dawson.
You can watch "Family Feud" from 3-4 pm EST on Boston's WHDH Channel 7.
