Just days after Michael Jackson had passed away, Joe Jackson was seen on BET's red carpet plugging his new record label Ranch Records.
TVNewser is now reporting that ABC News has paid upwards of $200,000 for a year old video that features Joe Jackson and wife Katherine, coupled with a new interview featuring Joe discussing the death of his son.

Yesterday afternoon, ABC News correspondent Chris Connelly sat down with Michael Jackson's father Joe Jackson -- Jackson's first one-on-one interview since his son's death. A small portion was used on "Nightline" last night, more of it today on "Good Morning America" and insiders tell us the interview may be used in an hour-long "Family Secrets" special Tuesday night.
But it didn't come free.
TVNewser has learned ABC News paid upwards of $200,000 for rights to video featuring Joe and Katherine Jackson - and with it, the interview with Joe Jackson. A source close to the situation tells us the video was shot more than a year ago, "for some kind of reality show project." ABC licensed that footage from the production company and then approached Joe Jackson about getting a current interview "to address everything that's happened in the last couple of weeks," says the source.
Below is the aforementioned interview featuring Joe Jackson discussing the death of Michael. Also included is a 1993 interview with Michael Jackson, conducted by Oprah Winfrey, which shows Michael discussing how his father treated him as a child.

michaels father is a jerk who never cared about his own or michaels children...he's greedy and only see's dollar signs....please tell me theres someone better than this to raise those kids....
I do believe Janet Jackson should raise these
children . She has lived the life of fame .
These children needs someone with knowledge
of what these children will need to guide them through out their lives. The children are famous because of who their father was. Now for another reason as sad as it is. We all
miss Michael , we will for a very long time.
The hype of it all should end and give these children some peace to have time to mourn the
father they loved so much . Mrs. Janet Jackson
should be the guardian of these children , I am sure they would agree . I beg of the press and all those making a dollar off each thing printed or posted . Take time and be the child
who has lost their father and let them grieve
with family they have known their entire little lives . The important thing is they are
with loving a family. A place they call home .
