During the Emmys’ annual “In Memoriam” segment, an image of the late Corey Haim appeared on the screen, looking eerily similar to Fred Savage of "The Wonder Years."  In fact, the similarities between Haim and Savage were so strikingly similar, I found myself racking my brain to remember if something terrible had befell Savage over the past year.

There's no need to worry, Wonder Years fans, Fred Savage is not dead.  Still, the brief clip of the late Corey Haim at the 2010 Emmys did bear more than a passing resemblance to Kevin Arnold.  And considering that I still consider "The Wonders Years" to be one of television's finest achievements, it was more than a little disturbing.  Something tells me Fred Savage might have to take to Twitter or Facebook to clear up any lingering confusion.

During the "In Memoriam" segment, Jewel came out and performed “Shape of You," strumming on her guitar while images of those that we lost in television flashed on the screen. Among the many names and faces were Fess Parker, Andrew Koenig, Robert Culp, Corey Haim, and Rue Mcclanahan.

What do you think?  Am I alone in thinking that the video clip of Corey Haim used during the "In Memoriam" segment oddly resembled Fred Savage?  Voice your thoughts below.

The 2010 Emmys aired on Sunday night from 8 pm to 11 pm ET on NBC.

Actually that clip was of Corey Haim!!! It was a clip from the 1985 tv movie called "A Time to Live", where Corey played a terminally ill child. There was a time when Corey & Fred Savage did look very much alike! R.I.P. Corey!

It was defintiely a picture of Fred Savage and blew my mind! I have spent all morning trying to find the cross reference as I knew I had not heard of Fred passing. I think it was just a terrible mistake and it definitely was not Corey!

Speaking of Fred Savage--what is everyone's favorite episode or moment from "The Wonder Years?"

I too think the Emmy's should apologize. I'm sure it was Fred Savage's picture, not Cory's.

If that's not Corey's picture, than the Emmys should not only be apologising to Mr. Savage, but most definitely need to apologise to Corey Haim's family! R.I.P. Corey Haim!
