Last night's "Idol Gives Back 2010" was a memorable event, featuring a sitting President, a host of musical guests, an interview with Bill and Melinda Gates and more. Still, the one of the most talked about moments from last night's show was Annie Lennox--less about her performance, more about what she was wearing.

While performing "Universal Child" via satellite, Lennox wore a black shirt with the words "HIV Positive" emblazoned on the front. The bold statement struck a nerve with viewers, with many wondering if Lennox herself has HIV.
Fortunately Lennox does not have HIV, but in a video message created in November, the Scottish musician says that her decision to wear the shirt is to bring awareness to the disease and, most importantly, to destigmatize the image millions have about HIV.
"We’re trying to normalize what is a preventable thing. It doesn’t need to have the stigma," says Lennox in the video.
