In eight seasons, Fox has never rebroadcast an episode of American Idol. However, due to the shocking death of Michael Jackson, tonight they will rebroadcast the season 8 episode, in which the contestants performed songs by the King of Pop.
The repeat episode was announced at the end of last Thursday night's So You Think You Can Dance by judge Cat Deeley.
The episode that is being re-aired was the Top-13 episode that originally aired in March.
This show contained outstanding performances of some of Jackson's biggest hits including the memorable Adam Lambert rendition of "Black or White," and the Danny Gokey version of "PYT," among many others.
This very special American Idol will air tonight at 8PM ET/PT on the Fox network.

Love Adam's version of "Black and White". Was very fitting and though different than Michael's, it was updated for today and very well done. It had an extra edge coming from Adam - who totally rocks!!
Once again this show will highlight the fact that Adam Lambert is by far the most talented contestant. Each week he rocked the house. Any voting system that named the other guy the winner is flawed. Adam can sing the legends songs better then they can. I can't wait for his album.
Nah Adam isnt even a piece of lint from the bottom of any real singers shoe.
