A Florida judge has ruled that HLN’s Nancy Grace must submit to a videotaped deposition. Grace, a former Atlanta prosecutor is being sued for the wrongful death of Melinda Duckett. Attorneys representing the cable talk show host had hoped the judge would deny the oppositions request to videotape the deposition or at least stop it from being released to the public. The ruling says that the deposition may be recorded but it can not be shared with a third party. Attorneys for Grace wanted to protect her privacy and avoid any embarrassment.

In 2006 Melinda Duckett appeared on Grace’s HLN show after the disappearance of her 2 year old son Trenton. Grace, known for using her show to seek justice for victims pressed Duckett about her son’s disappearance. She cross-examined Duckett on a window screen that had been cut. She questioned Duckett on her location in the home while her son was sleeping. Duckett became defensive when Nancy Grace asked if she took a polygraph. Grace asked Trenton’s father the same question. Duckett evaded questions about the polygraph only saying, “I’ve done everything they`ve asked me to.” The day after the interview 21 year old Melinda Duckett committed suicide. Authorities say they suspected Duckett in Trenton’s disappearance.

The family of Melinda Duckett named Nancy Grace and Atlanta based CNN as defendants in a wrongful death lawsuit. Because the interview aired after Duckett’s death, the family is also seeking damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress. In an interview with “Good Morning America” Nancy Grace said, “If anything, I would suggest that guilt made her commit suicide.” The lawsuit also names Melinda Duckett’s estranged husband Joshua Duckett as a co-defendant. Trenton Duckett was never found.

Before she became TV talk show host, Nancy Grace worked in Atlanta for the Fulton County District Attorney’s office. Grace worked primarily on rape, child molestation and murder cases. She made numerous appearances on CNN during the O.J. Simpson trial. “Nancy Grace” airs at 8 p.m. on HLN, formerly known as CNN Headline News. Given Grace's love of video tapes in order to go after people and show her viewers (again and again) - I am appalled that apparently Grace doesn't believe that "What's good for the Goose isn't good enough for the Grace"....

"Attorneys for Grace wanted to protect her privacy and avoid any embarrassment."

Wish she would have thought the same thing when she was going to show the video of Melinda Duckett on National TV.

    What a hypocrite.

Nancy Grace . . . what can I say. Just another one of "those who can do and does who can't gets a TV show". Or as they say, do unto others, well you know the rest.

Nancy Grace is a vicious person. She deserves to be sued. She is all about money and fame.

If you watch the show that this happened on Melinda Duckett was saying that she needed help finding her son. She got caught in a lie and Nancy went after her as if she was prosecuting her. It was a little harsh maybe but I would of been able to answer the questions if my child when missing if I had no involvement in it. It seems like Melinda was feeling guilty
