Dr. Conrad Murray was released on $75,000 bail. Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz put a set of conditions on Murray’s bail. Dr. Murray must surrender his passport to prevent him from fleeing the country. He is also restricted in his ability to practice medicine. The judge prohibited Dr. Murray from administering any kind of anesthetic. The judge said to Dr. Murray, “I don't want you sedating people.” Dr. Murray posted bail immediately after the hearing.
The Jackson family was also present in the courtroom. Exiting the courthouse, Michael Jackson’s father Joe Jackson said, “We need justice.” The State Attorney General’s office announced that it will start the process of revoking Dr. Murray’s California medical license.

Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s personal physician has surrendered himself to the authorities at the airport courthouse in Los Angeles. Murray’s surrender is the results of lengthy negotiations between his lawyers and prosecutors. He was expected to surrender on Friday, however reports of infighting between law enforcement officials derailed those plans. Prosecutors announced today that Dr. Murray will be charged with involuntary manslaughter. Dr. Murray pleaded not guilty at a hearing held shortly after his surrender.
The Jackson family expressed their desire to see Dr. Murray face murder charges. In an interview on CBS’s “The Early Show,” Jackson family attorney Brian Oxman called the charge of involuntary manslaughter, “Just a slap on the wrist.” Involuntary manslaughter has a maximum penalty of four years in prison.
Dr. Conrad Murray was treating the King of Pop, Michael Jackson when he died on June 25, 2009. Its been reported that he was paid $100,000 a month for his services. Dr. Murray told authorities that he administered several drugs in an effort to treat Michael Jackson’s insomnia. One of those drugs is the anesthetic Propofol, which is suppose to be used in a hospital environment. The coroner ruled that Michael Jackson’s death was a homicide, caused by acute Propofol intoxication.” The coroner cited a combination of drugs, primarily Propofol and lorazepam in Jackson’s system.
There are reports that the members of the Jackson family had a 4 hour meeting with officials in the District Attorney’s Office last week to discuss the case against Dr. Conrad Murray. The meeting was to address the family’s concerns and make sure they were not caught off guard by the charges. It’s expected that media coverage of the Dr. Murray’s surrender and first court appearance will be nothing short of a 3 ring circus.
The doctor has supposedly been held up at the home of a friend in Santa Monica, California. Cameras spotted Dr. Murray visiting Michael Jackson’s final resting place on Thursday. Video of the man allegedly responsible for Michael Jackson’s death is probably not sitting well with the Jackson family.
Atlanta resident Marlon Jackson, Michael Jackson’s older brother talked with WSB TV’s Jovita Moore recently and discussed the investigation into Dr. Conrad Murray. Marlon Jackson tells Moore what he thinks Dr. Murray. When asked if he thought the investigation was taking too long, Jackson replied, “It’s in the Lord’s hands… and the Lords time is always the right time.” It would seem that Dr. Murray’s time has come.
