Tonight “Saturday Night Live,” the NBC sketch comedy will start its thirty-fifth season. Actress Megan Fox will be hosting with musical guest U2. “SNL” started in 1975 as a replacement for the weekend repeat of the “Tonight Show with Johnny Carson” on NBC. Some of the world’s most brilliant comedians were cast members on the legendary show including Tina Fey, Will Farrell, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase and Mike Myers just to name a few.

Megan Fox, star of the “Transformers” movie and “Jennifer’s Body” will kick start the season. There has been a lot of hype and press about the actress. Like many celebs, there are times when a star will get heavy coverage in the press and be all over the place… this is apparently Fox’s turn. Just this week she has appeared on several shows promoting her films. There’s a lot of speculation as to how funny the actress will be. I think she can take a good joke. The starlet once sat through an interview with a bag on her head. So I think she can poke fun at herself and still be the glamorous diva that she is.

Megan Fox participated in this week’s “Weekend Update Thursday,” a 30 minute version of “SNL’s” popular segment. The update anchors Amy Poehler and Seth Myers parodied the cancelation “Guiding Light” with Fox. The thirty-fifth season of “SNL” airs tonight, live at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.
