Evidence of global warming conspiracy leaked to web

Carbon credit kingpin Al Gore (AP)

Hackers broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit (CRU), a prominent British climate change research center, releasing "researchers" interoffice emails which document deception used, and facts omitted, in furtherance of the man-made global warming myth.

Many skeptics knew of the global warming kooks "who needs truth when you have evidence" mentality, but had no proof, until now. These emails show intentional manipulation of information used and manufactured evidence to support their crackpot theories.

"A 62 megabyte zip file, containing around 160 megabytes of emails, pdfs and other documents, has been confirmed as genuine by the head of the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, Dr Phil Jones." according to Investigate Magazine.

The following email, from Dr. Jones, shows the intentional fabrication of "evidence" by falsifying temperature statistics in what Jones refers to as "Mike's nature trick" to "hide the decline" in actual temperatures. By definition, a decline in temperatures disproves global warming.

Dear Ray, Mike and Malcolm,
Once Tim’s got a diagram here we’ll send that either later today or first thing tomorrow. I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd [sic] from1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline. Mike’s series got the annual land and marine values while the other two got April-Sept for NH land N of 20N. The latter two are real for 1999, while the estimate for 1999 for NH combined is +0.44C wrt 61-90. The Global estimate for 1999 with data through Oct is +0.35C cf. 0.57 for 1998.
Thanks for the comments, Ray.
Cheers, Phil

The emails have been organized and are searchable on the web. There are multiple examples of datasets being manipulated or omitted to arrive at the desired conclusions. This has been an ongoing and all too common trick of the climate change crowd, with the most apparent being the claim that man made carbon dioxide is the greatest contributor to greenhouse gases when, in fact, water vapor makes up 95% of ghg.

Another usual missing data set is the naturally occurring geothermal processes which produce CO2. Geysers, volcanoes, hot springs, wild fires, etc. These measurements are, no doubt, included surreptitiously under the classification of CO2 from fossil fuel usage. It should also be mentioned that scientists believe that the CO2 levels were 10 times greater 500 million years ago than they are today.

According to a global warming advocate, Time for Change, in 2006 the average CO2 emissions per capita worldwide were 4.5 metric tons (4,500 kg. or 9900 lbs). For every 1 kg (2.2lbs) of dry weight (moisture weight removed) per tree, 1.65 kg (3.6lbs) of CO2 is removed from the atmosphere. For those of you who are mathematically inclined:

(1 kg of dried tree)x(.45 kg of C/1 kg of dried tree)x(44 amu of CO2/12 AMU of C) = 1.65 kg of CO2

The dry weight of an oak tree is 54lbs cu/ft (24.5 kg) which equates to 89.1 lbs (40.5 kg) of CO2 which is removed from the atmosphere per cu/ft of oak tree. Theoretically, it would take 112 cu/ft of oak tree to
remove 4,500 kg of CO2 emissions. The average oak tree is 110 feet tall. Assuming the trunk is 18” wide, the volume of the tree is 247.5 cu/ft. This one tree could remove more than twice the amount of CO2 per capita.

This account also does not take into consideration other types of trees and vegetation, CO2 absorption into the oceans and other variations in the carbon cycle.

Lastly, the topic of hypocrisy should be addressed. According to Al Gore and the “An inconvenient Truth” website www.climatecrisis.net, “Most emissions from homes are from the fossil fuels burned to generate electricity and heat. By using energy more efficiently at home, you can reduce your emissions and lower your energy bills by more than 30%.”

According to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research, “Gore’s home consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year.” “Gore’s heated pool house alone uses more than $500 in electricity every month.”
