Christianity under attack - Churches burning and preachers martyred

Feb. 8: Blaze at Dover Baptist Church in Smith County, Texas. (AP)

Texas - Since January 1, 2010, eleven churches have been burned down within about 150 miles in central and eastern Texas. Eight have been determined to be caused by arson, the remaining three are suspected to be arson.

Officials are also looking into church fires from late 2009 which may be related.

"There is no clear theme linking the fires, which have struck various church denominations -- Methodist, Baptist, Church of Christ Scientist -- on different days of the week and at different times of the day, he said. And while the churches are in small towns -- such as Wills Point, which has a population of about 3,800 people -- not all the fires were in remote locations," Tom Crowley, special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said in an interview with CNN. The churches also includes both black and white congregations.

There is a link however, yet this link will not appear in the mainstream media. All of the churches are variations of Christianity. Where is the outrage in the media in response to an obvious rash of hate crimes?

The following is a time line of the church arsons.

  • Faith Church in Athens - January 1
  • Grace Community Church in Athens - January 12
  • Lake Athens Baptist Church in Athens - January 12
  • Tyland Baptist Church in Tyler - January 16
  • The First Church of Christ Scientist in Tyler - January 17
  • First Baptist Church in Temple - January 19
  • The Fellowship of Prairie Creek Church in Lindale - January 20
  • Bethesda House of Prayer in Lindale - January 20
  • Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point - February 4
  • Dover Baptist Church in Smith County - February 8
  • Clear Spring Missionary Church in Smith County - February 8

Preachers martyred in Florida

Boynton Beach, Florida - Two Street Preachers were shot to death in Boynton Beach, Florida on January 30, 2010, while ministering to a street thug.

According to a police report, Stephen Ocean (left) and Tute Sufra (right) and a third male were speaking to 18 year old Jeriah Woody for about 15 minutes, when Woody took a call on his cell phone, then pulled out a gun and killed Ocean and Sufra without saying a word.

Woody reportedly shot Sufra point blank in the head, then shot Ocean in the back as he ran. Ocean fell upon being shot, at which time Woody walked up to Ocean and shot him in the head, execution style. The third male, thankfully, escaped and Woody was later arrested.

GOD bless these men and their families.

Have you noticed a lack of coverage in the mainstream media? Had these been mosques or imams, you'd never hear the end of it.
