The ultra cutting edge of genre cinema gathered in Los Angeles at the Greek Theater this past Saturday for the 2009 Spike Network Scream Awards. Among those taking home the coveted, fan-voted golden spike trophies this year were the cast of Alan Ball's hit HBO vampire series True Blood with a total of 4 awards! Among the honors accepted were those for "Best TV Show", "Best Villain" for Alexander Skarsgard and "Best Horror Actor and Actress" for co-stars and real-life couple Steven Moyer and Anna Paquin. What better way to fill the long empty months between seasons 2 and 3?

According to the full report posted today by the Associated Press, stars such as Tarantino, Woody Harrelson and True Blood creator Alan Ball readily utilized the four-letter-word, due to the fact that the show was not live, further entertaining a theater brimming with rabid fans dressed as zombies, vampires and other supernatural entities.  If you can't wait until October 27th for the official air date of this year's Scream Awards, True-Blood.net has posted a series of photos of the True Blood award winners accepting their honors on their online gallery.
