The long and arduous search for True Blood's next psychotic villainess has finally come to an end! Sources yesterday confirmed that Brit Morgan — best known from ABC Family’s short-lived drama The Middleman — has accepted the pivotal role of Debbie Pelt, the demented ex-lover of the werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello). Apparently, Debbie isn't too fond of Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Alcide's interest in her. No doubt, we can expect quite a bit of tasty drama from this feral she-wolf this summer!
Morgan is the latest addition to the ever-growing cast of unfamiliar faces for the third season of HBO's hit vampire series. With the exception of acclaimed actor Denis O'Hare, producer Alan Ball has gone with largely unknown talents. However, if history repeats itself, these actors will soon become household names around the world! According to ScreenCrave Morgan "fought tooth and nail for her coveted spot on True Blood". Smart girl! We're already talking about her!
Alan Ball spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the new role of Debbie Pelt and had this to say:
“She’s going to be in more episodes,” he said, “so maybe that will have an impact on [what actress] we can get for her, which is a big question right now.”
According to SpoilerTV, there is one more pivotal werewolf to be cast named "Hollis", a 40-something bouncer, and Alcide confidant, that will save him from a beating and deliver some bad news to Alcide about his fiancée. Looks like Season 3 is going to be all about the wolf pack.
Season 3 of True Blood debuts in June.
