This afternoon, over 350 people pre-registered for the first Cupid's Undie Run to benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Hotties in tidy whities, lingerie, boxers, and skimpy outfits headed to the Pour House on Capitol Hill for beer specials and a quick run around the U.S. Capitol. Hundreds of people lined up on Pennsylvania Avenue in freezing temperatures while waiting to get into the Pour House for drink specials and free treats from Georgetown Cupcakes.

Once inside the bar, revelers stripped down to their skivvies. Drinking and Valentine's Day pre-partying commenced.  Costumes ranged from homemade"Love" tattoos to elaborate cupid costumes. Despite the freezing temperatures, over 400 people jogged around the Capitol for a fun run. Nobody seemed to mind that D.C. was a frozen tundra. Many groups stopped to pose for pictures in front of the Capitol and Supreme Court. Maybe, it was cabin fever. But, D.C. needs more fun, grassroots events like the Undie Run.

The organizer of Cupid's Undie Run, Brendan Hanrahan, told The Examiner that he was overwhelmed by the support for the event. The Undie Run started as an idea for a fundraiser for his childhood friend who suffers from a chronic nervous system disease.

Under Armour, Muscle Milk, Honest Tea, Coup de Foudre Lingerie, and the Boomerang Party Bus were among the companies to donate raffle prizes and post-race fuel. Brendan told The Examiner that the blizzard prevented all of the t-shirts from being shipped on time. He wants people to know that the Cupid's Undie Run t-shirts will be shipped. Or better yet, there may be a Happy Hour for t-shirt pick up.
