Pole dancer doll raises parent concerns (Gallery + Video)

 Poll Dancer doll causes uproar

It's amazing what one picture on the internet can do to arouse parents. The picture of the day is the Pole Dancer Doll.

The Pole Dancer Dances to the music and moves up and down the pole as well as around and around the poll.

The dress of the Pole Dancer doll is fairly modest, and there was no indication that the moves made by the doll were provacative.

Poll Dancer Dolls are also hot alarm clocks and USB toys.

A toy like the Pole Dancer Doll was pulled from a U.K. store shelves. The Peekaboo Pole Dancing kit had a pole, dance garter and play money for tips. The package had a cartoon like stripper depicted and was in  Toys and Games section of the website.

The Poll Dancer Doll was clearly on the shelf at a toy store.

What is truly amazing is that anyone is surprised parents are upset about this "toy!" What next, a pimp action figure?

I do understand the concern that parents have over this doll, knowing what they know about adult “pole dancers.”

I don’t know though. If I were a child and I saw this doll, I would just think that it’s a cute doll who dances around a pole.

Aren’t we just imposing our adult knowledge on our children when we have a problem with a doll like this? They don’t know about our adult references.

This appears to simply be a doll that dances around a pole. So what? Unless she strips off her clothing or dances provocatively, I don’t see what the big deal is.

Yes, this is CLEARLY on the shelf at a toy store, on the aisle just to the left of the life-sized "Barrel of Monkeys" games.

the problem with the toy is that we're watering down and attempting to appeal the actions of the exotic dancer to children. toys act as models to our children of the things around them. so by this toy being on the shelves, we're essentially saying, pole dancing is an option for you and we encourage you to do it. way to start training your little princess for the hoe stroll as if it's alright with you.
