Glen Liberman, the brains behind the design house obviously has a love for small mechanisms. Therefore for him to design a ring with actual working gears is a natural.
The concept was envisioned for the Gear Ring, a product (it says on the website) "complex enough to play with, yet simple enough to wear".
The Gear Ring is made from high quality matte stainless with six micro-precision gears that turn in unison when the outer rims are spun (as can be seen in the video).
The Gear Ring uses 316L - highest quality surgical stainless steel for jewelry. Stainless steel is highly durable and resistant to tarnishing, fading, scratching, and rusting. It will not bend or break and is hypoallergenic for those with metal allergies.
It is currently available for purchase in four standard US ring sizes: 9, 10, 11, and 12. However, custom orders are accepted for other Gear Ring sizes.
The Gear Ring is easy to care for. No 3,000 mile lube and oil changes necessary to keep these gears operating smoothly. Just soak it in soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.
