Hawthorn Suites Weston/Ft Lauderdale
Whenever we go to South Florida to visit family, we always stay at the Hawthorn Suites Weston/Ft Lauderdale. The Hawthorn Suites is an all-suite hotel located in Weston just off of I-75. It is convenient for those going to the Sawgrass Mills area, or Pembrooke Pines, as both are just a few exits away. The Fort Lauderdale beaches are about a 20 minute drive from the hotel so even though you won't be beachfront, you will have a reliable and safe place to stay.
The Hawthorn Suites Weston/Ft Lauderdale features free high speed wireless internet (which works pretty well), a small gym, and an outdoor pool. Every morning you can wake up to a free hot breakfast buffet including make-your-own-waffles! The rooms themselves are quite large with a separate living room area attached to the bedroom. You can choose between the standard two Double Beds or one King Bed Suite, or upgrade and reserve the extra-large King Bed Executive Suite instead. All room types feature a 37" flat-screen television, a kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave and coffeemaker, as well as a writing desk and a sitting area.

Fit for a King - the King Suite
The Hawthorn Suites Weston/Ft Lauderdale accepts dogs, cats and birds. They will also accept any small animal that can stay in its cage during the duration of the visit, such as hamsters or gerbils. They generally do not allow more than two pets per room, but will make exceptions. They also generally only allow pets under 25lbs but again exceptions can be made. There is a $10 charge per night with no deposit required. The hotel is always clean and the staff are always friendly. In fact, upon checking out last time the receptionist remembered me from my previous stay months earlier. My dog was already outside with my husband but she still remembered him!
Supersize it - the Executive Double Suite
Advance purchase rates are the lowest available and are around $79/night. Regular rates are around $99/night depending on season and availability. This is a great value for everything that is included.
I highly recommend the Hawthorn Suites Weston/Ft Lauderdale for anyone traveling to the Weston area - especially those of you who have pets! Don't leave them behind - take them with you on your next trip.
