Guana River State Park 2400 acre coastal park.
You'll find just about everything haveing to do with water here from fishing villages to commercial fishing to simply lazing in the sun. Seventeen significant historic cultural sites are nestled in this area. Some fo the sites are even listed on The National Register of Historic Places.
Even their website cannot begin to list the many things that you will find here. You'll have to drive a bit from the Tampa area but it is worth the scenic drive. The beaches of northeast Florida stretch for more than 100 miles and hug the Atlantic coast. You'll get to see the Daytona Beach area. This Guana Tract is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, or the Tolomato River. These are just a few of the many, many cheap and/or free places to visit while in the Tampa and surrounding areas. Have your camera ready as there will be so many opportunities for that perfect picture.
