I'm a big fan of Rick Steves. I have most of his books, videos and now DVD's and consider him the penultimate travel ambassador. The travel guru is thoughtful, respectful and doesn't have that livin' high on the hog mentality that sometimes seeps through in travel folks. Think Rudy Maxa.
I'll take Rick Steves.
You can see and hear Rick Steves at the Sea-Tac Travel Expo on Sunday, September 7 from 2-5 PM. It's sponsored by the airport's restaurants, shops and service providers and will be held at the Gina Marie Lindsey International Arrivals Hall.
Rick Steves is an internationally known expert and author on European travel, and also host of the PBS series, Rick Steves' Europe. He'll share his first-hand experiences, excerpts from his travel books and present up-to-date travel advice about the best in European travel. He'll sign his books between presentations.
The travel expo also includes an adventure travel packing expert, prizes and giveaways by airport shops, free food sampling by airport restaurants, including Anthony's, Kathy Casey's Dish D'lish, Ivar's and others. Scandinavian Airlines will be giving away two free round-trip tickets to any of its nearly 80 European destinations.
