I just spent two days in Vancouver, BC -- right before the start of the 2010 Winter Games. It was fun, festive and eerily calm in the eye of the upcoming storm.
No, not a snowstorm. But I'm sure that's one thing that Vancouver wouldn't mind experiencing right about now. Since they've had to haul in snow to Cypress Mountain for the snowboard and free style competitions, local weather talk has been more about the flowers in bloom than the abundance of white stuff.
The upcoming storm would be the quarter of a million people expected to descend on Vancouver Feb. 12-28, 2010. And I had such a good time during my too-brief 32-hour visit, I plan to return after the start of the Games. No, I don't have tickets for any of the events, but there's plenty to do that will put you in the Olympic mood and make you feel a part of spring-like winter celebration.

loved the photo of Andy Maxwell. Enjoyed the article, good to know there are so many things to do, even without tickets.
