Found just at the edge of Anchorage passed Earthquake Park, Point Woronzof is a beautiful stretch of beach along the Knik Arm. Visitors to Anchorage can travel along Northern Lights Blvd. toward the coast to find this romantic and intriguing spot.
Best known for its views of Anchorage's ports and Mount Susitna, also known as the Sleeping Lady, this spot is also fabulous for bonfires with friends and collecting sea glass. During the wintertime, the mud flats are frozen and visitors can use one of several access points to walk down to the beach. The beauty of the rushing waters with enormous ice chunks floating by is indescribable and provides the perfect Alaskan beach experience for visitors from the lower 48.
During the summertime, Point Woronzof boasts amazing views of the bay waters especially at sunset, which is the perfect opportunity to picnic on the beach with that special someone or close friends as the sun melts into the water. Point Woronzof is also accessible by the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and provides access to Kincaid park, where wildlife -- especially moose -- can be seen frolicking through local flora and fauna foliage.
