Albuquerque has so much history, so many fascinating buildings, so many stories and places. It’s hard to believe that tourists and locals couldn’t hop on a city tour. But that sad situation has just been remedied by Jesser Herron and Michael Silva. Their ABQ Trolley is ready to ride.
The Trolley
The trolley has been specially constructed, handcrafted and mounted on pre-manufactured chassis, and with special touches just for ABQ Trolley Co. “We designed a trolley that incorporates specific elements that are uniquely-Albuquerque,” they write on their website. These include wrought-iron rails, a stucco-texture paint treatment that looks like our beloved adobe, custom mosaic tile art on the sides. It also has a completely open-air interior because, frankly, Albuquerque has the best weather in the country. But even a place with over 300 days of sunshine a year does have a bit of wind, and even a shower once in a while (which are always welcomed – we do live in a desert), the trolley does have roll-down clear shades.

Q-View
The trolley is equipped with two flat-panel monitors that are coupled with tourism-specific GPS technology. This modern technology allows them to integrate photographic elements of Albuquerque's past throughout the tour – rolling down Central Avenue and being able to look up at the monitors and see the Mother Road as it was during the heyday of Route 66.
The Tour
Jesse and Michael have created a 66-minute city tour that takes riders through 18 miles covering: historic and charming Old Town, Museum Row (The Albuquerque Museum of Art & History, NM Museum of Natural History & Science, Explora ), Downtown filled with historic buildings, historic Route 66, Nob Hill, the Rio Grande, Tingley Beach (yes, it's our waterside beach and fishing lake) and much more.

This is a guided tour, not a hop-on/hop-off transit system. Jesse and Michael want to introduce visitors to their favorite places in ABQ. It’s an overview of Duke City, the tour will leave you wanting more. Far from sating your appetite to explore the city, it will whet it.
“At ABQ Trolley Co., we consider ourselves the best first thing to do in Albuquerque. We chose this phrase to describe our business because we honestly believe it.”
