One of the hottest tours is the 'Angels & Demons' tour in ancient Rome. The tour is based on the book written by Dan Brown, 'Angels & Demons', who also authored the wildly popular best-seller 'The Da Vinci Code'. While the 'Angels & Demons' movie, starring Tom Hanks is set to premiere in theaters on May 15th, the official 'Angels & Demons' tour in Rome is selling like hotcakes. The 'Angels & Demons' movie was banned from filming inside many of the churches, but the tour is allowed access to the major churches and attractions in the story:
- St. Maria del Popolo Church
- St. Peter's Square
- St. Maria della Vittoria Church
- Pantheon
- Piazza Navona
- Castel Sant’Angelo
- Il Passetto (from outside)
The tour is described as,"a unique experience that will let you visit the most beautiful piazzas in Rome as well as the unexplored sites where pagan symbolism and Christianity intermix to reveal a disturbing ancient truth". Standard 4-hour group tour admission is $56 for adults and $51 for children over the age of 4. There will be no more than 24 persons on each tour, and you will be whisked around in an air-conditioned bus. Your tour price includes admission into the first century Castel Sant’Angelo near the Vatican (normally $8 admission). Private tours and treasure hunts are also available.
