Don't be fooled by the image here. Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs) are not just electric bikes. LEVs include scooters, skateboards, bicycles, mopeds and stand up scooters.
It's no surprise that technology is advancing in every area of our lives. it's even advancing in areas that maybe we had never even thought would or could be useful. These new and nimble vehicles take advantage of new technology in electric motors and power supplies to help provide us with a whole new way of getting around. This technology also allows us to enjoy our old ways of getting around in new and exciting ways.
While researching this article I spent a lot of time over at the LEV Advisor web site. When you head over there, prepare to be amazed at how inventive these vehicles are.
A great example of how great this new technology integrates is the Schwinn Tailwind Electric Bicycle, pictured above. While keeping that classic Schwinn styling, they have also managed to include a next generation Toshiba battery system capable of providing a range of up to as much as 25 to 30 miles on a single charge.
As a "pedal assist" bicycle, you don't necessarily get away scot-free from having to put some effort into the ride, but you can adjust how much work the motor takes on, and how much leg work you are willing to do.
Of course, new technology comes with the type of price tag you would expect and this is no different. Expect to pay about $3500 for this ride.
In addition to awesome electric bikes, LEVs include the newest and greatest electric mopeds to scoot you around town. These electric mopeds boast speeds of up to 35mph and are far less obnoxious than their earlier gas powered cousins. They are sleek and nimble, and look like just plain fun, while being environmentally conscious.
And while they may not be the choice for the daily commute, LEVs also include skateboards and stand up scooters. There is even an electric powered off road skateboard with knobby tires!
The point here is two-fold: Green and fun. Open yourself to the world of LEV's and open a world of fun.
