Topps sure is happy they got their NFL license back because here they come with another mid to high-end product. The difference this time is that the cards look like a mid to high-end Upper Deck product. Notice I didn't say that was a good thing.
Called Topps Unrivaled, the product boasts two rookie autographs and one patch autograph or multi-player autograph per box. From the preview images, the main draws of the product seem to be the patch autographs of both rookie and veteran players, and the booklet cards that Topps is very fond of these days, featuring six or four-player signatures. All of the autographs appear to be on-sticker, much to delight of sticker autograph collectors everywhere.
As for the Upper Deck comparison, when I first saw the images, my reaction was, "oh, Upper Deck has a Sweet Spot Football this year." Oops. No release date has been announced, but considering the lack of a major hook that no other product has, I do wonder if this is another one and done release for Topps, alongside such memorable products like Unique or Platinum.
