Fire at Takamatsu Sushi Restaurant
A police officer driving down Speedway Blvd this morning just after 3 AM noticed smoke pouring from the roof of Tucson sushi restaurant Takamatsu located at 5532 E Speedway Blvd.
Firefighters responded and quickly put out the fire, but early reports indicate the interior of the restaurant has been gutted, leaving an estimated $400,000 worth of damage. No word yet on the cause of the fire or when the restaurant will be able to reopen. No injuries have been reported.
Takamatsu Sushi and Korean BBQ has been open in Tucson for over 15 years and employs approximately 40 people, and it is a regular stop for both Tucson residents and tourists seeking sushi and Korean BBQ. The 11,000 square foot restaurant boasted the largest sushi bar in southern Arizona.
The restaurant does offer two other locations, but unfortunately for fans in Tucson, they'll have to drive to Phoenix if they can't wait for the restaurant to rebuild.

Oh no!!!! That is my favorite restauraunt. It is such a shame and I can't wait for it to reopen.
