Smell the trees, the soil and the breeze coming in off of the Gulf of Mexico. The interstate10 stretch that runs across southwest Alabama between Mississippi and Florida has a gamut that goes from the sea to the country. Discover a true southern countryside complete with farm houses, barns, cattle and cotton crops.

Experience the charm and hospitality of country along coastal Alabama at Aunt B’s Country Kitchen and Store in Theodore, Alabama just outside Mobile. Alabama. Aunt B’s Country Kitchen and Store is located eight miles from Interstate10 exit 17 in Alabama.

If you’ve been on the road for a while and need a break, there’s no place better than Aunt B’s Country Kitchen and Store to sit back and relax before continuing your trip. Get a sandwich and a tall glass of southern iced tea, sit at a wooden table on the screened in porch and watch the birds flutter through the trees of a pecan orchard. You may never want to leave.

Aunt B's has soup and sandwiches at noon and real country cooking in the evenings. The menu changes daily and varies from chicken and dumplings to beef stew with corn meal dumplings.  The vegetables are fresh and changes with the season.

Browse through the country store and examine such things as sweet potato biscuits, black-eyed pea chowchow and pecan oil. Pick up some homemade fudge or a piece of cake to eat while traveling. Did you know pecan oil is better for you than olive oil?

On Saturday mornings  there’s a market place. Local farmers and neighbors bring their goods to be sold. You can buy fresh produce or sample some fresh smoked mullet. Everything at the market is either homegrown or homemade.

Beverly and Robert Pettie are home grown country people who’ll show you the meaning of southern hospitality. Take a break and stop at Aunt B’s Country Kitchen and Store.
Ya’ll come to see us when you can.
