Tastings - A Wine Experience has five locations across the US. Connecticut is lucky enough to have the franchise in Mystic. Other locations include Ft. Meyers and Orlando, FL, Decatur, GA, Grapevine, TX, and coming soon to Indianapolis, IN. You can find Tastings at 4 Hendrel Drive along the Connecticut shoreline to experience the wine bar. Their 100 wine collections can be sampled by the taste, glass, or bottle and purchases can be enjoyed in Mystic or the comfort of your own home.
This Mother's Day, May 10, 2009, Tastings will be hosting a 3 course food and wine experience for that special lady in your life. For the cost of $39.50 per person you can enjoy the wine tasting experience along with a Mother's Day meal. Appetizer choices will include organic tomato salad or seared ahi tuna with a wine selection of Gruet Rose NV Brut. Main course leaves you with only one option of surf and turf (twin oven roasted filet medallions and gulf coast shrimp). The main course wine selection will include Kenwood Vineyards 2006 Russian River Pinot Noir or Pierre Sparr 2005 Alsace Reserve Pinot Gris. If you have room for dessert choose from New York style cheesecake with a cherry sauce or chocolate decadence with red raspberry puree. Your dessert wine selection will be Cockburns 2003 LBV Porto or Toad Hollow Vineyards NV Risque Sparkling Wine.
