The Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, CT is home to an array of mammals, amphibians, birds, reptiles, and insects. These animals are primarily from North and South America and many are endangered species. Animals at the zoo include tigers, bears, otters, owls, wolves, prairie dogs, and much more. Visiting the Beardsley Zoo will give you the opportunity to take a walk through the tropical rainforest, the Wolf Cabin and Aviary, and visit with a prairie dog, ocelot, and monkey.
Mark your calendars because on Sunday, November 22, 2009 the Beardsley Zoo is offering free admission to all visitors! The zoo is open daily, year round, from 9:00am-4:00pm, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. Included inside the zoo is the New World Tropics Building open from 10:30am-3:30pm and the Carousel Building seasonally from 10:30am-4:00pm. Regular adult admission is $12 and children $9. Admission free day is a great opportunity to bring the whole family to the only zoo located in Connecticut.
The Beardsley Zoo is located at 1875 Noble Avenue in Bridgeport, CT. Directions are available online. An alternative is taking bus #9 from the Bridgeport Bus Terminal to East Main Street and Noble Avenue. Follow Noble Avenue to the Park and Zoo entrance.
