Top Chef Masters Bravo TV
This week's Top Chef Masters has something for everyone, carnivores and herbivores alike. After last week's dismissal of Suzanne Tracht, winner Anita Lo is the last woman standing in the championship round. Standing on top.
The episode starts off with the gourmet burger quickfire challenge that promises to deliver some drool inducing burgers for the red meat lover in many of us.
Treasure it as the rest of the episode seems to go down a slippery slope devoted to the growing vegan population. Not a target that many chefs serve, so creativity and innovation will surely be rewarded.
For the gourmet burger quickfire, chef Hubert appears to be the front runner, having a $5,000 burger on his menu at Fleur de Lys in Las Vegas. And he quickly notes that people do buy his burger. In this recession? Impressive chef Hubert. Only in Vegas. Which I guess is why it's so genius that Top Chef season six is in the city of sin.
But back to that $5,000 burger. Apparently it is made of kobe beef, black truffles and foie gras. And served with a bottle of 1995 Chateau Petrus.
Well, I guess most of us mere mortals will just have to live vicariously through the television to see what magic he whips up this time around.
After burgers galore, the chefs move on to the elimination challenge here they will be catering a meal for actress and singer Zooey Deschanel and her friends.
One catch, make that many catches. Miss Deschanel is apparently a quite difficult eater. Not only is she vegan, she is gluten intolerant and does not eat soy.
Such distress on the chefs faces! Can't wait to see what they come up with? If anyone can make something appetizing with those kind of restrictions it's these five chefs.
