The Lightkeepers, directed by Daniel Adams, is being submitted for Academy Award qualifications. The film stars Richard Dreyfuss, Blythe Danner, Tom Wisdom, and Mamie Gummer and is slated for a nationwide release on March 12, 2010.
Set in the year 1912 on Cape Cod, a lighthouse keeper, Seth (Dreyfuss) and his assistant, John Brown (Wisdom) have disavowed any association with females. It is then that two ladies rent a nearby cottage for the summer; a Boston society girl, Ruth (Gummer) and her housekeeper, Mrs. Bascom (Danner).
The film has a few sneak peeks playing within the next month:
- Laemmle Music Hall Theater (Beverley Hills) - one week run starting December 18
- Cape Cinema (Dennis, MA) - two week run starting Christmas day
- Palm Springs International Film Festival - closing day, January 18, 2010
The Academy Award campaign will be for Best Actor (Richard Dreyfus), Best Supporting Actress (Blythe Danner), and Best Director (Daniel Adams).
