The Toledo Walleye, Grand Rapids Griffins and Rockford IceHogs announced today the movement of several players, with Sebastien Piche returning to the Griffins and the Walleye receiving Travis Ehrhardt from Grand Rapids, as well as Jonathan Carlsson and Maxime Tanguay from Rockford.
Piche's stay with the Walleye was short but sweet, tallying two assists in two games plus four penalty minutes. Fans enjoyed his strong physical play in the two contests against the Cincinnati Cyclones at the Lucas County Arena over the weekend.
Signed by the Detroit Red Wings back in July, Travis Ehrhardt joined the Griffins for eight games this season, recording one assists, 13 penalty minutes and a plus-three rating. He previously played in the WHL, spending nearly two seasons with the Portland Winter Hawks and just over two more with the Moose Jaw Warriors. In the 2008-09 season, Ehrhardt led the team in points, goals and assists by a defenseman.
Carlsson and Tanguay return to the Walleye for their second assignment of the year. Carlsson was here for three games earlier in the month, contributing a goal and an assist. Tanguay was key to the early success of the Walleye, notching five goals and 12 assists in just nine games.
Ehrhardt will be on hand this weekend as the Toledo Walleye host the Florida Everblades. Their home stretch continues as the South Carolina Stingrays visit for back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday.
