The Museum of Modern Art hosted its Second Annual Film Benefit celebrating the work of Tim Burton last night in New York City. A gala dinner evening with some of Hollywood’s hottest showed up to pay their respects to the innovative director, with all proceeds benefiting MoMA’s Department of Film.
Many familiar faces from Burton’s cinema reality came out to honor Burton, including: Helena Bonham Carter (long time partner and mother of their two children), along with long-time friend Johnny Depp, and Danny Elfman, who composed music for many of Burton’s films.
Actor Danny DeVito, fashion designer Rachel Roy, the Olsen Twins, actress Brooke Shields, and singer Patti Smith were among other who stepped out to commemorate his work.
Not only did those who came out to honor Burton share an amazing gala dinner, but they also had the opportunity to view his work in the museum. Stretching back over the last three decades, attendees were able to immerse themselves deeper into Burton’s mind, partaking of the most intimate of his inner-workings.
