Round-robin clothing exchange and more...
During this economically challenging time…why not orchestrate a clothing exchange with your friends.
What is a clothing exchange? A gathering of 10 – 15 friends where everyone brings clothes that don’t fit or are no longer wanted. In round-robin style, everyone takes turns selecting an item to try on, until everyone has had an oppo
rtunity to try on everything they wanted. If you find an item you like...it’s yours. If more than one person wants the same item…a side bar conversation ensues.
Even though there may be a wide range of body sizes/shapes amongst the group, it will work out so that everyone takes something ‘new’ home, as most of us have several sizes in our wardrobes...the size we were and the size we want to be. Any remaining clothes should be donated.
Take the exchange idea a step further...are there other items that you are tired of or don’t use that you could exchange? For example: art work, books, dishes, pots and pans, silverware, shoes, belts, jewelry, tools, scrapbooking goodies, fabric for all you sewing/quilting junkies, pillows, blankets, games, puzzles, picture frames, and curtains, etc.
Remember to only bring things you are willing to give away. Don’t bring any items you would prefer to sell…take those to your local consignment store or host a garage sale.

great idea!
I can honestly say this is the first time that I have heard of this. What an excellent idea!
Great idea and the best thing is that anything that remains goes to charity!
Funny, we thought of this a few weeks ago...it took some time to work around everyones time...(no one wanted to be excluded) We have the date May 30th @ 7pm set for our first clothing exchange party at one of the two furniture stores we work at... All the ladies from two stores will be there...We have been given permission to use the larger store after hours, (lots of room to spread out) and it is a great bonding time for all of us with pizza, punch and cheese cake...I can not tell you how excited everyone is to do this, if it works out well I can see it being an annual party every year. We are calling it our "Green Exchange Party" and yes anything left over will go to charity...
